Just Getting Started, Libianca exits The Voice before the top 13

The live voting rounds for NBC’s The Voice took place on Monday, November 8th. The competition was stiff, as Libianca made her way on stage for a fresh performance from the Minneapolis based artist. Leading up to her stage time, we heard the singer talk more about her anxiety attacks, and how music is always her therapy stating, “I am a strong Woman and I will be Ok.” It gave us a sense of urgency in recognizing the poise this young star already has, as mentioned before by her coach Blake Shelton. Libianca covered the track “Woman” from artist Doja Cat. The song in itself is already very vibrant in bounce and flow, with Libianca nailing every movement along with it. She was able to show a more intimate side in her storytelling ability, gripping audiences once again with her style (for my money, she has been the best dressed on the show, no contest). The stage setup included hypnotizing light sequences in cooler patterns like blues and purples, pushing a sense of ease and comfort during the performance. Dancing and even rapping, Libianca pulled out some aspects out of her bag that America has not seen before on a national stage. In and out of bars and melodies flawlessly, it would come down to the vote of the public. Head coach Blake Shelton mentioned how he wanted people at home to know how “connected Libianca is with every song she does”.When the results were revealed yesterday night, we learned that Libianca’s time would be coming to an end on The Voice, as she just missed the mark for the top 13. Immediately, there was backlash on Twitter in support of the singer, stating how she should have undoubtedly made it to the next set of live rounds. The taste of the Nation was questioned when the votes were not enough, her departure being the most disappointing to her new fans across the country. Libianca and her time on The Voice gave Minneapolis someone and something to cheer for, through every step. At the end of the day, she was amazing with her time on the nationally broadcasted hit show, and it is only up from here. With a platform that’s now expanded, do not take your eyes off this ultra authentic artist. The level of craftsmanship and artistry is evident when seeing her sing and perform. The sky is quite literally the limit for Libianca and with national attention on her, she always rises to the occasion. I personally can’t wait to see what she does next in terms of her career and art. It has been an absolute pleasure covering her, as well as her time on the show. WaterWave TV and myself will continue to capture the growth of this star, right in our own backyard. You can follow Libianca on Instagram and Twitter, @iamlibianca. Seeing what the artist will be up to is all the storyline we need, when dealing with someone of her caliber.
